CornerHouse’s volunteers and interns help bring our purpose to life - to pursue safety, justice and healing to youth and their families who have experienced abuse.

Volunteering at CornerHouse is hands-on, educational, and rewarding. Check out our volunteer opportunities below:

  • Interact with children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults before and after their interviews (4 hours/week).

  • Every day is different! Help us complete various projects that will improve our efficiency and better serve clients. Remote and work from home volunteer opportunities are available.

  • Do you have a special skill you’d like to share? Be it technology, maintenance, web development, or more - we’d be happy to talk with you and see how you can help.

  • We offer undergraduate and graduate internships for our Forensic and Family Services programs. Acquire new skills and help fulfill CornerHouse’s mission.

Board and Committee Opportunities

Be a key actor in making a difference!

As a child advocacy center with a mission to partner with families, communities, and systems to reduce trauma and end abuse - the best way to make a change is to bring your experience and voice to our decisions.

  • Purpose: The CornerHouse Board of Directors is composed of: (1) members who represent organizations that partner with CornerHouse’s services, and (2) at-large members with no such affiliation, but who bring legal, strategy, operational or other insights.

    Meeting Time: 4th Tuesday of the month, 8am - 10am

  • The purpose of the Young Professionals Board is to serve as leaders by increasing engagement in prevention efforts; providing a voice to corporations, government administrations, and others to increase awareness and resources; and by planning and implementing CornerHouse’s Annual Baseball Fundraiser with the St Paul Saints.

    Meets bi-monthly

    Members are up to the age of 35 in a professional position.

    Members need to pass a DHS/volunteer background check.

  • Purpose: The philanthropy committee is comprised of both board members and others who provide governance of the annual fundraising plan as well as the capacity building campaign. In addition, they are the liaison with the board of directors creating and implementing board driven philanthropic goals and assuring philanthropic engagement of the members in their unique capacities. Support the development staff with meet & greets and donor cultivation activities/events for major donors, sponsors, and foundations.

    Meeting Time: 2nd Tuesday of the month from 4pm - 5pm

Fundraising Event Committees

Committee members work to build out the event; assist in identifying potential supporters; facilitate engagement; and assist in producing the event.

  • Purpose: Work with the St Paul Saints to create a baseball fundraiser during one of the Saints home games at CHS field. Use the event to raise funds and promote awareness for CornerHouse’s mental health designed to address and reduce the traumatic effects of abuse. Event is typically the last Tuesday of July at 7:00 PM

    Meeting Time: Monthly, on Tuesday or Thursday mornings

    Chairs: Rich Jacobson, Kraus-Anderson and Keith Beneke, Med Craft

  • Purpose: Plan, create and implement a food and cocktail event that brings together donors, partners, and businesses to unite to end child abuse. Event takes place in April

    Meeting Time: 2nd Tuesday of the month from 9:30am - 10:30am
